Birthday Party!

This Saturday, on the morning of Ben's birthday party, Andy and I woke up at 6:30AM to a little voice, yelling, "Mommy, daddy, come here!! - Mommy, daddy, come here!!". Turns out that Ben had woken up, snuck downstairs (which he has never done before) and spied his birthday cake sitting on the dining room table. Apparently, he hoisted himself up into his little booster chair and began plucking off pieces of candy for breakfast.

We had a great time at Ben's 3rd Birthday party. Grandma Jeanne, Aaron, Rhonda and Grant, Adam and Aunt Carole all made it to celebrate at Ben's train birthday party. We had a nice lunch (outside even!) of corn chowder, sub sandwiches and, of course, birthday cake. Even Eli had some cake! Ben got some very nice things - thank you everyone for coming to celebrate our big boy turning 3!!

Here's a shot of present opening - I only include it, because in the bottom corner Eli is showing what it is like to be the 'second baby'. For about a whole minute noone notices that he is chowing on Ben's wrapping paper. Finally, Uncle Adam notices and tells us, then mommy pulls a chunk of paper out of his mouth... Poor second kids... Funny thing, we actually have another video just like it taken about an hour later - Ben opening gifts, Eli in the corner of the shot, eating paper, mom pulling another chunk from his mouth. Hmmmm.
