late June and 4th of July camping trip

Camping trip to Clear Lake in the Cascades on 4th of July weekend:

• boys loved the tent, and fell asleep in record time
• it was hot (90+ degrees on Friday arrival)
• 2 hikes totaling just short of 7 miles. Ben hiked it all, Eli rode Andy's shoulders for small parts.
• 1st hike to Sand Mountain Lookout Tower - great views, not so great access road/ hike on road
• 2nd hike to Sahalie and Foosah Falls - neat falls!
• lots of osprey activity on the super clear lake
• Row boat ride
• Many S'mores were eaten by everyone
• Andy's new Bose mini-Bluetooth speaker came in handy as our neighbors were (ahem) loud

 

 Eli loved collecting sticks.
