Phew - Eli stayed under 100 degrees all day. He slept. A lot. Looks like the end is in sight. When do we get to open our windows back up again???

I got a fever...

and the only prescription is... more tylenol (or ibuprofin, or cowbell, if you prefer). Starting on Monday morning, poor Eli has been battling a nasty virus that has sent his temperature spiking up to 103.1 twice in two days. It has also sent several large loads of mommy, daddy and Eli clothes to the washing machine after full on barf sessions. One of the barfs erupted all over the Jumperoo, converting the usual 'lovely' jungle noises that it plays to an echo-y underwater jungle in a cave sound. After 45 minutes, 10 screws, multiple paper towels, several Q-tips, and even some toothpicks - I got the sound back to its non-underwater (er...underbarf - literally) sound that it had... Eli is still not feeling well today. He started off with a 102.5 temp and another barf (or two) this morning. He's been down for a long nap, so hopefully, he wake up feeling better. We had him in to the doctor yesterday mostly because of the horribly goopy eyes, but the consensus was that this was all related to (you guessed it) a virus. Hopefully, Eli will soon be out of the 'bottom of the petri dish' status at daycare, but just think of the great immune system he's building up, right? Right?
Here are a few pics from last weekend.
The countdown is on - my parents will be here in about 3 days!!! Hope they bring some Vitamin C...

6 months already!

Eli had his 6 month well baby visit on Tuesday.

Weight: 17.5 lbs (49%)
Length: 26.75 in (62%)
Head: 17.25 in (51%)

Eli...

Heis sitting up pretty well now.
He just started showing signs of near-crawling (still a ways away...)
He is eating solids twice a day.
We started him on a 'plan' to get him sleeping thru the night.
His bottom 2 teeth are pretty much all the way in.
He is quite mischieveous. And fast.

Ben.
Got his leg stuck in the fold out foot rest part of an upholstered chair this morning - quite scary for him and us...
Started drawing the sun
Does NOT like to wear camo pants.
Really likes a certain girl at his daycare. He tells me he kissed her, and I said "Oh, how sweet". He tells me that his teacher said "No no". When I asked the teacher about it, she explained - I only said 'No' beacuse they got carried away... Hmmmm
Favorite sayings as of late...
"I do that tomorrow" (When asked to cover his mouth when coughing or anything else he doesn't want to do)
"Ooooh, look a Target truck"
"I want a new house... with lots of snow"
"Georgia peach" in the cutest little southern accent
"I'm medium" (A big boy, but not too big)
"When I get bigger, I xxxxx (fill in the blank with anything)
"Look how big my hand is - Wooooooaaaaahhh"

The next Bieber?

Ben's reaction to the snow last Thursday was so cute. I missed the first part: "Mommy, mommy - It's snowing, it's snowing, it's snowing!!!", but here's a bit more.

Here's Ben's version of Take Me Out to the Ballgame.

And Down By the Station

Down by the station early in the morning

See the little pufferbellies all in a row

See the station master pull the little handle

Chug, Chug, Toot, Toot off we go!

Snow Day!

Snow day here in Oregon... (nothing compared to the 19 inches in Mpls on Monday, but we'll take it!)

It was the perfect snow for snowballs and snowmen...
Some of us just watched others make snowballs and snowmen...

My little baby is sitting up on his own now...

My big boy is getting very good at using the potty (for potty, anyway - poop is still hit or miss)

We nearly had a Barf-o-rama

Warning - Folks with a queasy stomach should skip the next paragraph and move on to the nice pictures of the kids... :)

So this morning, we were having some quality family bonding time. Mommy, daddy and the 2 boys all relaxing and snuggling in our bed. Sounds just lovely, huh? Well, then Eli starts coughing - just a little bit at first, then he really had a few deep coughs. Then he proceeds to throw up. I caught most of it in my hand. No big deal, except that I couldn't believe the nearly instantaneous reaction that Ben had. One look at Eli and Ben threw up, too. At this point, I'm looking at daddy, just waiting for him to be next. But luckily he held it together... Otherwise, we could have had a complete and total Barf-o-rama.

Eli seems to be doing a bit better. Still has a pesky low-grade fever. We may try to make an appointment tomorrow... We'll see how the night goes.
