We have viewed the Old Fashioned Festival (our little small town's big party) this year with a whole new perspective. From the eyes of a 14 month old. This year we actually
went to the parade, and
enjoyed the clown, and actually
considered some of the carnival rides (but didn't go on any). The temps were creeping up towards the 90's which is quite hot for this area, so we only stayed for 1/2 of the parade (plus we were overdue for naptime). Ben liked watching the people and horses and dancers, and firetrucks, but did have 30 seconds of crying when one of the 20 local firetrucks blared its (very loud) siren right next to us... There was a lot of pointing with "oooooooo" - I assume a phrase of excitement.

Not sure if you can see it, but this one is called "Big Ben".

Our "Little Ben".

A clown on stilts...

Andy's mom, brother and sis-in-law joined us on Saturday for dinner, live blues at the park, and fireworks from the comfort of our backyard. Even though this is Ben's cheeseball grin, he was really having tons of fun with grandma...

Ben had a great day on Friday. While mommy and daddy were cleaning, he was trying his best to help us out. He literally spent 30 minutes walking around with the broom (and got very mad when I tried to
(gasp) put it away). He also
had to watch daddy vacuum the living room rug, office and laundry room, the whole time repeating "da-coom", "da-coom".

A nice bath time pic from this weekend. Look at all 6 of my teeth!
