Time for the first ear infection

Ben has pretty much been his happy self, until last night when Andy descibed him as a bit "off". I thought he felt a bit warm, but his armpit temp was only 98. He seemed fine in the AM, but when I picked him up from daycare, he felt warm, but only registered at 99 in the armpit. Daycare said that he slept all morning, but ate OK. I ended up bringing him in to the doctor's office, because of his recent RSV and the propensity for associated ear infections. His temp there was 101.1 in the armpit, and the doc said that he had some fluid in his right ear. So antibiotics here we come... There's a first time for everything, right? :)

After a last night and this morning with 102.1 temps, it looks like Ben is feeling a bit better (thanks to some Motrin and lots of sleep). Still has a fever but it looks like he is returning to his old happy self.

OK - that last comment was just a temporary thing... He ended up with a 102.9 at 3AM, and then at 102.5 in the afternoon yesterday, but this AM, back down to 100.9. Motrin is doing its thing. Still not eating at all, but he is nursing after much coaxing. Poor buddy. Lots of sleeping, too - slept 12 hours last night, up at 8AM for an hour and a half, then back down for 2 hr nap.
